The National has some more details about the March:

  • All Under One Banner is to break its normal practice of not holding marches and rallies in winter to carry out what is effectively an emergency march in Glasgow on January 11.
  • The group’s Facebook page announced the march yesterday as follows: “We’ve just informed @policescotland that we will March for Independence #AUOB on Sat 11th January at Glasgow due to exceptional political circumstances. It is urgent that we exercise our right to Self-Determination by taking to the streets of our biggest city in the New Year.”
  • The National can reveal that the route will follow the same as last May’s hugely successful march and rally in the city.
  • Dozens of activists and supporters took to social media to express approval of the plan. Bill Cruickshank tweeted: “I think that is a very good shout. I live in the Highlands but will now be making plans to be there, booking accommodation etc. Simply superb & as always thank you for everything you do.”

Why will we be marching? Because :
