Talks from Our AGM

The 16 March was that Saturday when Scotland was caught in a jetstream-powered downpour of rain, sleet and snow but 70 of us still made our way to our AGM in Edinburgh. We were very fortunate to have three speakers joining us: Edinburgh City Councillor Ashley Graczyk, Joanna Cherry QC MP, and Paul Kavanagh-Mosson with the Wee Ginger Dug.

Richard Murphy on Scottish Economics

Richard Murphy is an economist. He runs the blog Tax Research UK  where he is described as:

Richard Murphy (60) is a chartered accountant and a political economist. He has been described by the Guardian newspaper as an “anti-poverty campaigner and tax expert”. He is Professor of Practice in International Political Economy at City University, London and Director of Tax Research UK. According to International Tax Review Richard was the 7th most influential person in global tax in 2013. In 2016 Richard was in the same journal’s Global Top 50 in tax, one of only two people to have been so for the whole five years it had published such a list. In 2017 he was ninth on the same list.

And he’s a supporter of Scottish Independence. Here are a couple of videos where he talks about  how Scotland will do economically as an independent nation.

Nation Videos by Lesley Riddoch

Lesley Riddoch is a well kent face in media Scottish, and in the Indy Movement. for a number of years she has championed aligning Scotland with our Nordic neighbours. She’s frequently to be found at Yes Group meetings around Scotland. This is her at Clydebank Town Hall before Christmas.

This Is It – £104,065 Raised So Far

P4Indy is one of the stake-holder groups of Scottish Independence Convention. Our National Co-convenor, Alan Logue, attends SIC meetings and regularly reports back to the National Group and that info gets fed back to our local groups.

WHO? 

The Scottish Independence Convention is a coalition of Scotland’s national pro-independence organisations, the pro-independence political parties and, through the membership of regional forums, of Scotland’s local grassroots pro-independence groups. The work’s already begun and our public research work has shown us the type of people who could vote for independence if the situation was right for them. Between us, we can bring together the best people to win them over.
