Scotland’s Oil ?    Aye, right !

Now that income from North Sea Oil has fallen in recent times, an independent Scotland would find it hard to make ends meet,  right ?

Wrong !

The biggest single financial benefit from North Sea Oil is all the taxes paid by the big oil companies on their profits.

While Scotland remains part of the United Kingdom, all these taxes go straight to the London Treasury, and Scotland sees not a single penny of them.

When Scotland becomes an independent nation again, these taxes – although less than a few years ago – will remain in Scotland to pay for services here, so Scotland will in fact be better off from oil after independence than now.

So the facts say that what unionists like to tell us about how we’d struggle after independence is complete nonsense !
